"The Sentinel"

A nesting pair of Birds, one on the nest and one standing guard as "The Sentinel"

The Process ....

• It starts with a Watercolour and Ink wash
  
• As the paper buckled with the moisture it created a shadow that formed a shape of a birds head
  
• Placing shadows behind the forms I came up with two birds, one on the nest and one on guard as "The Sentinel"
  
• Develop the structure and detail of the branches and flowers as well as add depth and colour to the birds
