The brief: A simple, large, coastal water scene in the cool refreshing colours of the Indian Ocean lapping at our golden sandy beaches. It was a delight to paint “Where there is smoke” and I’d like to thank ‘M’ and ‘J’ for entrusting me with the commission using whatever artistic license I needed to make it a unique scene just for them. It has arrived safely after its long journey to it's new home in England where I know it will be cherished . |

This piece was commissioned after my wildflower painting won the Pastels award in the North Midlands Art Exhibition in 2019 for "Wildflower wonders- Jilbering II". It showcases our beautiful flush of wildflowers that appear every spring throughout the Midlands region north of Perth, Western Australia. |
"Bright New Day" Watercolour and Acrylic Ink on Arches 360gms watercolour Paper
This came with an interesting request.....We really like your Penguin painting but we'd like it without the Penguins!..... So I found some butterflies instead with some interesting leaves twigs and flowers. The light glows through the grasses to welcome the viewer to a bright new day matching the decor of the new office fit-out. The view depicts the colours of the coast where the Kimberley red earth meets the Indian Ocean in northern Western Australia. This commission was based on 2 smaller paintings "Pilbara Red I & II" viewed at my studio. The image size required was 920mm x 620mm Painted in Acrylic inks and watercolour on 360gm Arches watercolour paper |
"Broome Gulls" - Acrylic on board 1.6m x 400mm
We all enjoy watching the seagulls at the beach with their shadows and reflections and their carefree attitude. This commission was based on an album of gull photos supplied by the client and then given artistic license to compose a painting to fit a specific area. Mandurah Traffic Bridge Banners , second series 2018.
Four of my designs were selected for the second series of banners to adorn the new Mandurah Traffic Bridge in Western Australia.The new traffic bridge has 14 Banners across its width. |
