September is such a beautiful time to head up into the hills of Perth to Mundaring. The Mundaring Weir Gallery has such an amazing collection of Artisans showcasing their work. Debra is delighted at the opportunity to exhibit in the Gallery with them.
Debra Scidone is a West Australian Artist with over 20 years of story-telling as a visual artist. Debra takes you into the Australian landscape and celebrates some of our unique Flora and Fauna. Paintings include the grass trees of the South to the wildflowers of the North and the farming country in-between. Emus, Kookaburras, Wrens and Possums are known to make an appearance in her paintings. Her landscapes capture the light and mood of natural events such as fires and the broody stormy skies of the outback. As guest artist for September Debra would like to extend an “Invitation to be Curious”. “There is no better place to get inspiration than a trip in the Western Australian bush so I feel right at home in the Mundaring Shire.” “Sharing my love of art and the world around us my art practice takes me on a journey of discovery that I love to share. Photography, travel and my imagination culminate in a diverse range of subjects, styles and media.” Debra opens her Art Studio to the public each Sunday in November |

A work in progress...
If you would like an invitation to my next exhibition please send a message to me below This exhibition is taking me off on an unusual tangent it features dancers from the "Tiny Tutu" ballet school and it all started with a conversation at my last exhibition that featured "Grass trees" where I explained the difference between grass trees and grass plants and how they were totally unrelated... as is the subject that I am now painting, capturing tiny little moments of tiny little dancers from three to six year olds. A very privileged experience |
