Have no idea what to paint? Try taking "The Blob Test"
Below you will find a very short slideshow that shows an initial "Blob" of ink dropped onto a piece of paper that is then sprayed with water or manipulated in some way and then left to dry. Then it was photocopied for the exercise.
Take the time to focus on the image and just like when you were a kid and made shapes from the clouds you will begin to see an image. The possibilities are endless as each turn of the paper provides more opportunities. In this exercise I have limited it to two possibilities for each "Blob". These same "Blobs were presented to a group of Artists at the Alfred Cove Art Society monthly meeting and their results are in my next blog. Please take a look at all the different interpretations.
